Puppy training & socialisation classes
Happy Tails puppy classes are currently held in Crosscannonby Community Centre in Crosby near Maryport, and Allonby Village Hall.

We have a maximum of 8 puppies in a class to give plenty of socialising opportunities while also making sure there's plenty of space.

Puppies can join the classes as soon as they are covered by their puppy vaccinations, please check with your vet.
Our youngest puppies are 12 weeks. If you would like some training in your home for your puppy before they are ready for group classes, please get in touch to arrange a home visit.

The oldest a puppy can be to join these classes is 5 months. If your puppy is older, they will need an assessment before attending a class. Please look at my One to One dog training.

Happy Tails Puppy Package offers you the help and support you need to guide your new pup through those first vital week with you. We help you to show your pup how to be confident amongst other dogs and people, how to settle and relax, to sit, recall, play and be handled and groomed. We also offer expert advice on grooming, handling and first aid.

Included in our puppy package is a 1-1 session to get you started with your new pup, followed by 8 group sessions. This gives you plenty of time to socialise your new puppy amongst other puppies and handlers and to cover all the skills required for the Kennel Club Puppy foundation award, and create the life skills required to create a well behaved, confident adult dog.

Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Course
Our puppy classes follow the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Course.
We also include some basic first aid and grooming tips.
In the classes we teach the puppies to
-
settle on their bed
-
how to lead walk
-
sit
-
down and stand
-
recall
-
how to approach other dogs and people in a calm and relaxed manner.

We make sure the pups are comfortable and happy being groomed and handled and are under control around food and toys.

After all, a well-trained puppy grows into a happier, more confident dog!
